Neck Pain Physical Therapy in Riverdale, MD
Stop Letting Neck Pain Call the Shots
Stiff, achy, or sharp—neck pain that follows you from your desk to your training has a root cause. We find it and build a one-on-one plan to get you moving freely.

Ignoring Neck Pain Just Lets It Settle Deeper Into How You Move
Backing Off Hasn't Fixed It
Easing up for a week might quiet your neck down, but the stiffness returns the moment you sit back at your desk or get back under the bar—because the underlying driver is still there.
It's Turning Into Headaches
Neck tension rarely stays put. Left alone, it refers up into tension headaches, jaw tightness, and aching shoulders—so what started small starts shaping your whole day.
Stretching Alone Isn't Solving It
Self-stretching takes the edge off for a few minutes, but it rarely matches what your neck actually needs. Without knowing the real driver, you're guessing—and guessing drags it out.
Neck Pain Care Led by Licensed DPTs
Every neck pain plan at Process PT is built and delivered by a doctor of physical therapy—combining hands-on treatment with targeted strength work, never a handed-off protocol.

Cervicogenic Headaches - Headaches that start at the base of the skull and trace back to tension and restriction in the neck.
Pinched-Nerve Symptoms - Sharp pain, tingling, or numbness that travels from the neck into the shoulder, arm, or hand.
Limited Range of Motion - Trouble checking a blind spot or turning fully to one side without pain catching you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Thinking about PT for your neck pain? Here's what people in Riverdale ask us most.
Will I have to stop training or working while my neck recovers?
Usually not. Keeping you moving is central to how we work. We learn the demands of your job and your training, then adjust your activity and exercises so you can stay as active as is safely possible while your neck recovers—rather than shutting everything down.
What actually causes neck pain in active adults?
Neck pain usually traces back to how your neck and upper back move and load—posture, mobility limits, strength gaps, or patterns that overload the area. We use a movement assessment to find the real driver instead of guessing, then build your plan around what we find.
Is neck pain physical therapy covered if I have insurance?
We're a cash-based clinic and don't bill insurance directly. You get a full hour one-on-one with your DPT every visit, and we provide a superbill after each session that you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We also accept HSA and FSA cards.
Can physical therapy help the headaches that come with my neck pain?
Often, yes. When headaches trace back to tension and restriction in the neck, addressing those drivers can ease them. After your assessment we'll tell you whether your symptoms fit that pattern and what your plan looks like based on how your body responds.
What happens during my first visit?
Your first session is a full hour with your DPT. We assess how your neck, upper back, and shoulders move, look at posture and the areas around the neck, and start to pinpoint what's driving your symptoms—so everything from there is built around your body.
