Recovery Services for Active Adults in Riverdale, MD

Train Hard. Recover Smarter. Keep Going.

Nagging tightness, restricted tissue, and accumulated soreness don't have to derail your training. Our DPT-led recovery sessions give your body what it needs to stay consistent.

Your Recovery Isn't Keeping Up With How Hard You're Training

Foam rolling isn't solving the problem

Self-treatment can take the edge off, but it rarely addresses the deeper restrictions holding back your range of motion and tissue quality between training sessions.

Accumulated soreness is slowing you down

Training harder than your body can recover from leads to nagging aches, tightness, and eventually injury. You need more than rest days to stay on top of it.

Generic massage misses the performance point

Spa-style massage feels good but isn't connected to how you move or perform. You need recovery care tied to your sport and your training demands.

Common Conditions We Treat

What Recovery Services Address

Our recovery modalities are built for athletes who train consistently and need professional-level support to stay that way.

Muscle Soreness and Fatigue - Post-workout soreness and training fatigue that limit how hard you can push the next day.

Myofascial Trigger Points - Tight, restricted tissue causing referred pain that doesn't resolve with rest or foam rolling alone.

Restricted Range of Motion - Tightness in the hips, shoulders, or thoracic spine limiting your depth, overhead position, or running mechanics.

Overuse Patterns - Repetitive stress from running, cycling, CrossFit, or basketball building up over weeks of training.

Pre-Competition Prep - Athletes heading into a race or competition who want to optimize tissue quality and reduce injury risk going in.

Maintenance Between PT Episodes - Periodic sessions to maintain tissue quality and prevent flare-ups after completing a PT plan.

Post-Event Recovery - Athletes coming off a race, tournament, or heavy training weekend who need targeted recovery to bounce back faster.

Jasmine was fantastic to work with after a knee injury kept me from playing tennis. She listened carefully, adjusted accordingly, kept me on track with a home program, and left me with work to keep up the improvement after I return to the court. I highly recommend the practice!

Frequently Asked Questions

New to dry needling or recovery services? Here's what athletes in Riverdale ask us before their first session.

Does dry needling hurt?

Most people feel a muscle twitch or brief cramping sensation during dry needling—a normal response as the needle engages the trigger point. Some areas are more sensitive than others, but the sensation passes quickly. Many people feel notable relief within 24–48 hours after the session, and we walk you through what to expect before we begin.

Do I need a PT evaluation before booking recovery services?

Not necessarily. We recommend a brief intake to understand your training history and goals before your first recovery session so we can make sure it's targeted and appropriate. If you have a more complex injury, we may suggest starting with a full PT evaluation first.

How is this different from a regular massage?

Our recovery sessions are delivered by licensed DPTs with clinical certifications—not general massage staff. Every session is connected to how you move and perform. We use dry needling, IASTM, and assisted stretching as targeted clinical tools to address specific restrictions, not general relaxation techniques.

How many recovery sessions will I need?

It depends on what you're dealing with and your training volume. Some athletes book a single session before an event or after a hard training block. Others come in periodically as a maintenance strategy. We'll give you a clear recommendation after your first session based on what we find.

Can I combine recovery services with physical therapy?

Absolutely—and many of our PT patients do exactly that. Recovery sessions are a natural complement to a PT plan, helping you maintain tissue quality and manage soreness between your primary appointments. If you're already a PT patient, just let us know and we'll coordinate your care.
